This technique involves removing fat by liposuction in areas where it is in excess and reinjecting it where you want to restore volume during the same procedure under general anesthesia. The reinjected or grafted fat must be purified beforehand by centrifugation, filtration or decantation during the operation. The engraftment rate varies between 50 and 70%, which means that more fat must be reinjected than is theoretically necessary to achieve the desired volume (overcorrection). To obtain significant volume gain, it is therefore necessary to have a sufficient «stock» of fat and / or to perform several lipomodelling sessions several months apart.
