Hypoplasia or hypotrophy of the breasts is defined by having breasts that are too small compared to their general morphology. This can be corrected through the placement of breast prostheses. It can be constitutional (from birth) or follow a pregnancy, weight loss or hormonal imbalance. Hypoplasia can be isolated or associated with a fall of the breast (breast ptosis). Currently, the only implants allowed are implants filled with silicone gel with a smooth or microtextured surface.
