The bloodless, painless and harmless measurement of the Doppler effect makes it possible to precisely know the instantaneous speed of the blood at any point of the arterial and venous axes, thereby providing decisive indications on essential hemodynamic parameters such as flow rate, pressure and its gradients, parietal flexibility and arteriolo-capillary resistance.

These indications in turn make it possible to specify the degree of stenosis, the topography and the flow of arteriovenous fistulas, the organic or functional character of distal circulatory disorders.
