Condyloma acuminata are warts on the anogenital mucous membranes associated with a mild viral infection with certain types of papillomavirus (HPV). the different treatments are:
Cryotherapy: applied to each condyloma in the same way as for skin warts.
Destruction by CO2 laser which vaporizes and carbonizes the lesions located on the mucous membrane of the genitals.
Drug treatments: regular local application of drugs helps eradicate visible lesions. It is :
Podophyllotoxin (Condylline®)
Imiquimod (Aldara®): This is a medicine that stimulates the immune system by inducing the production of anti-viral substances.
Surgical excision is suggested in the event of failure of previous treatments or in the event of profuse lesions, especially in the cervix (conization).
