Anal fistula cure and anal margin abscess

Gastroenterologist

Anal fistulas and anal margin abscesses are the same disease that begins with infection of small glands in the anal canal. The abscess shows up in an acute form and is always the result of an underlying anal fistula. The intervention is performed in one or more stages depending on the existence or not of a fistulous path. If it is a simple abscess, the cavity will be left open with the placement of a wick of Algosteril to be changed every day. If there is a fistula path that connects the anal margin and the rectum, the surgical technique will consist of placing a rubber band in this path to drain the infected area and prevent the formation of an abscess.
