Cosmetic ear surgery aims to glue them back together or more rarely to modify their shape. Through a hidden incision behind the ear, the surgeon gives the ears a nice shape by folding them up and then placing them back against the skull. Sometimes changes in more complex cartilage shapes are made. The operation is performed under "assisted" local anesthesia (diazanalgesia) or under a short general anesthesia for more comfort in the child. The duration of the operation is approximately 1 hour.
