Electrocorticocorticography

Neurologist

The electrocorticocorticography(EcoG) is the recording of neuronal activity within electrods directly setup on the brain cortex. Realised in case of pharmocological resistant epilepsy, this investigation is practised during the surgical time just after the craniotomy and preconized when the assessment realised before the surgery does not allow to notify the exact localisation and area of the epileptogenic zone. It also allowes to identify the functionnal proximal zone more precisely ; so that the surgeon can sensitively but securely modify his surgical pattern within the surgery time to obtain the more exhaustive outcome.
