Polysomnography (or sleep polygraphy) is a medical examination consisting in recording, during the patient's sleep, several physiological variables (respiratory rate, heart rate, electroencephalogram, electromyogram of the muscles of the arms or legs, etc.) in order to determine certain sleep-related disorders, including apnea or obstructive sleep apnea syndrome (OSAS).
