It is a test of choice for the diagnosis of complications of peritoneal dialysis. Continuous ambulatory peritoneal dialysis (CAPD) is a renal replacement technique, allowing the patient to stay at home independently or with assistance. This technique is in full expansion. However, instillation of fluid into the peritoneal cavity can lead to mechanical complications, such as a hernia or leakage of fluid into the pleural cavity, the diagnosis of which must be made because it involves permanent or transient discontinuation of the technique.
