Diagnostic hysteroscopy

Obstetrician Gynecologist

This exam studies the lining of the uterus (endometrium) in order to:
- Detect anomalies.
- Take samples for laboratory analysis.
- Perform small surgical procedures (resection of polyps or fibroids, curettage.) When done under general anesthesia.

Looking for:
- A fibroid.
- Signs of inflammation or infection.
- An obstruction.
- A tumor.
- A malformation.
It is indicated in the balance sheets of:
- Sterility.
- Repeated miscarriages.
- Gynecological pain and bleeding.

Hysteroscopy is considered the gold standard because it is very precise.
Diagnostic hysteroscopy does not require general anesthesia and uses a flexible fiberscope unlike surgical hysteroscopy.
