Facet rhizolysis thermocoagulation in Sidi Kacem

Orthopaedic and Trauma Surgeon

Rhizolysis corresponds to the thermal destruction (80 °) by electrodes of the pain fibers at the level of the posterior joints of the painful lumbar vertebrae. This is a percutaneous procedure (without incision of the skin and leaving no scar) performed under general anesthesia for 10 to 20 minutes. Electrodes are placed in single-use needles at the level of painful posterior joints under radiological identification in very specific places so as not to injure the nerve of the leg (sciatic or crural nerve).
