The aim of this adenectomy is to specify the infectious or tumorous, benign or malignant nature of the lymph node, which will make it possible to offer a possible additional treatment, in particular drug or surgical treatment. The operation is carried out through a small skin incision opposite the lymph node. This will be taken for various analyzes (microbiology, histology, etc.). An intraoperative histological examination may be requested to specify the nature of the lymph node and to complete the surgical procedure, if necessary (lymph node dissection for example).
