Equine varus clubfoot is a malformation of one or often both feet, formed during the period when the child was still in the uterine cavity, but the cause of which is not exactly known. The Ponseti Mitchells splint is the 2nd step in clubfoot treatment using the Ponseti method. It allows to maintain and even improve the correction obtained by the successive plasters and by the tenotomy of the Achilles tendon. Non-compliance with wearing the splint is the major factor in the recurrence of the deformity.
