Aerosol therapy is a therapy aimed at treating various respiratory tract conditions such as asthma, COPD, but also laryngitis, acute bronchitis and sinusitis. It also makes it possible to administer certain drugs such as antibiotics or corticosteroids with better local efficacy, avoiding the side effects and dose limitations induced by the systemic route (oral or injectable).
The inhaled products are mainly bronchodilators (for asthma, COPD), anti-inflammatory corticosteroids and antibiotics (for cystic fibrosis, dilation of the bronchi).
