Bladder diverticulum cure

Urologist

It is a weakness of the muscle wall through which the lining bulges out (like a hernia). The communication between the bladder and the diverticulum is called the neck. It is often narrow. The causes of this disease are either congenital (the patient is born with this anomaly which occurs during the formation of the bladder) or acquired (occurring in adults, on an initially normal bladder). Acquired bladder diverticulum is usually due to the presence of an obstruction to the flow of urine. This obstacle results in a permanent increase in pressure in the bladder, which the bladder muscle struggles against. This creates areas of weakness in the muscle layer of the bladder, creating a hernia called a diverticulum. The goal of treatment is to improve emptying by removing the diverticulum or opening the neck.
