The removal of a portion of the pancreas is intended for patients with benign (cyst), potentially malignant (cystic tumors) or malignant (cancer) pathologies. The aim of the operation is to remove a portion of the pancreas affected by the lesion while preserving the rest of the parenchyma which is healthy. This intervention is complex because of the anatomical situation of the head of the pancreas. this area is a crossroads between the biliary tract, the pancreatic tract and the digestive circuit. On the other hand, the vascular connections of the head of the pancreas are made up of large vessels which are the aorta, the vena cava and the portal trunk. The specific risks of this intervention are hemorrhage and pancreatic fistula. These two complications are serious and sometimes require revision surgery.
