Installation of trans-tympanic ventilators in Casablanca

Otolaryngologist (ENT)

The trans-tympanic ventilator is a hollow plastic tube (yoyo or diabolo, straight tube or T tube). This aerator is placed through the tympanic membrane after incision, or paracentesis, of the eardrum, under a microscope. Usually, the aerator will spontaneously come out after a few months. In some cases, it will need to be removed by your ENT doctor.
The purpose of placing an aerator through the eardrum is to promote aeration of the middle ear in case of:
- serum-mucous otitis with hearing impairment
- tympanic retraction
- repeated acute otitis media
