Vestibular neurotomy in Casablanca

Otolaryngologist (ENT)

This intervention is indicated for a disabling peripheral vertigo related to a dysfunction of the part of the inner ear involved in the functions of balance. These vertigo have been progressing for several months to several years, and medical or balance rehabilitation treatments have been shown to be ineffective or insufficient. The goal of the intervention is to cut the nerve fibers that carry information from the labyrinth. To do this, the nerve must be approached in its course, either in the internal auditory canal or in the ponto-cerebellar angle. After the operation, balance rehabilitation is often necessary. Hearing signs (tinnitus, deafness) are usually not improved by the procedure.
