During this test the patient is lying on a couch. Self-adhesive electrodes are placed on the muscles of the patient's neck. A hearing headset is placed on the patient's head and delivers sound stimulation. The patient should alternately raise and rest their head and the responses of part of the balance organ called the saccule are recorded during sound stimulation.
