Exploration of vertigo by Videonystagmoscopy

Otolaryngologist (ENT)

This examination studies the abnormalities of eye movements using a mask placed on the patient's face and which incorporates a camera. The first part of the test searches for eye tracking abnormalities when tracking a light target The second part of the test studies the symmetry of the responses of the balance organ located in the inner ear through gentle stimulation on a rotary chair. The rotational speeds of the chair correspond to the movements we perform in everyday life when we turn. The last part looks for a decrease or an absence of response of one of the two organs of balance through stimulation of the ear with water or air.
