Otoacoustic emission in Sale

Otolaryngologist (ENT)

Otoacoustic emissions are the reflection of a spontaneous activity of the ear which will not only hear sounds but also produce them, in response to external sound stimulation in particular. AEOs can therefore be defined as sounds emitted by the ear. This test is very important, especially in examining newborns, because if otoacoustic emissions are present it means that the hearing of the newborn does not present deafness greater than 30-40 dB. It is a routine screening test, increasingly used when examining newborns.
