This is the technique of choice for calf augmentation. This is the only technique for patients who do not have sufficient fat reserves to perform lipomodelling and who wish to benefit from a lasting result in one intervention. The implant is most often placed internally. More rarely, an external implant is indicated. Finally, 2 implants can be placed at the same time, when the calf augmentation needs to be more comprehensive, generally as part of a reconstruction (sequelae of polyomyelitis or clubfoot). The implants used are specially designed for calf augmentation. They are pre-filled with a very cohesive (very firm) silicone gel and the shell is very durable.
