ERCP in Tanger

Visceral and digestive surgeon

Endoscopic retrograde cholangiopancreatography (ERCP) combines an endoscope (a thin, flexible tube with a lumen) with X-rays to observe and treat diseases affecting the bile ducts and pancreatic duct. These ducts (small tubes) drain fluids from the pancreas, liver and gallbladder.
ERCP is done primarily to treat a blockage in a bile or pancreatic duct and to take samples of cells and tissues. A duct can become blocked due to cancer or for non-cancerous causes, such as stones (solid deposits) in the duct.
