Also called the renin angiotensin test. Selective adrenal vein catheterization is used to test for aldosterone lateralization in primary hyperaldosteronism. When a patient has primary hyperaldosteronism and adrenalectomy is being considered, catheterization of the adrenal veins is necessary.
