Bone conduction hearing aids allow sound to be conducted directly to both of your inner ears without using the vibration of the eardrum or the vibration of the middle ear ossicles. To improve the stability and efficiency of sound transmission, an osseointegrated fixation system is offered. They allow hearing rehabilitation in patients who cannot classically be fitted via the external auditory canal or in cases of total unilateral deafness. The procedure involves implanting in the mastoid (bone located behind the pinna of the ear), an implant capable of transmitting acoustic vibrations directly to the bone.
