The purpose of the intervention is to improve your hearing as an alternative to the conventional hearing aid. The middle ear implant is made up of several parts. Some implants are placed completely under the skin, others have one part placed under the skin, and another, external part which is removable. Their common point is a vibrating part which must be brought into contact with the ossicles of the middle ear, or sometimes with the inner ear, either directly or indirectly through an artificial ossicle, most often made of titanium. For semi-implantable middle ear implants, an external part, carrying the microphone that picks up external sounds, will be placed opposite the internal part located under the skin and will hold by magnetization. For devices that are fully implanted under the skin (fully implantable), a microphone must sometimes be placed under the skin, also behind the ear.
