Treatment of laryngeal paralysis (vocal cords) by thyroplasty or injection in Marrakech

Otolaryngologist (ENT)

The purpose of vocal cord medialization interventions is to improve the closure of your vocal cords during phonation and swallowing. Consequently, its objectives are: - Improvement of the voice disorder (dysphonia) you have. - The reduction of your possible swallowing problems - Improving your breathing, by reducing your air leakage due to the failure of your two vocal cords to close In thyroplasty, the principle is to move the paralyzed vocal cord towards the midline by a device called an implant, placed in the larynx through the cartilage of the larynx (thyroid cartilage). This allows, during the sound emission forming the voice, a better coupling of the vocal cords and an improvement of the voice, but also of your breath and your swallowing. During the injection, the principle is to increase the volume of the vocal cord paralyzed by an injected product which can be autologous fat, taken from adipose tissue (abdominal wall, knee, buttocks) or a paste of material inert made of silicone microbeads, hydroxyapatite or collagen.
