Cranioencephalic abnormalities represent 25% of all fetal malformations. If some diagnoses are easy (such as anencephaly), there are many others where, despite an easily found call sign (example of a ventriculomegaly at 15 mm), it is difficult, if not impossible to give a diagnosis precise etiological and thus carry a neurological prognosis. Some brain conditions can escape the ultrasound in the second trimester of pregnancy and will not be recognized until the third trimester. These are abnormalities acquired late (hypoxo-ischemic accidents, tumors, etc.) and certain partial agenesis of the corpus callosum.
